Return Policy

Most items can be returned to Cord Depot within 30 days of purchase date subject to conditions listed below. All orders shipped to Canada are ineligible for returns. For United States orders, please see our return policy below to see if your order qualifies.

Terms and Conditions for Returns:

Special Order / Custom Assembled Items

There are no returns allowed for products which have been specially ordered or custom wired for you. This includes all items marked as assembly in our catalog. These items are not routinely stocked at our warehouse and therefore cannot be returned.

Assembled items do not come with any warranty from CordDepot or the Manufacturer unless explicitly stated in the product description. CordDepot does not warrant that any assembly part will fit all other manufacturer parts.

Returns within 30 Days of your Purchase Date

If you would like to return your order within 30 days of purchase, you may send the item back to our returns center and receive a full credit back for your items, minus the cost of shipping in the original order. This excludes assembled items and orders that shipped to Canada.

Returns Within 60 Days of your Purchase Date

Returns after the 30 Day period, but under 60 days can still be returned (excluding assembly items and orders shipped to Canada). All orders in this period will be subjected to a 25% restocking fee. You are responsible for shipping back to our returns center.

Returns After 60 Days of Your Purchase Date

Unfortunately, we do not accept returns for any items or orders after the 60 day period from the purchase date.


In most cases, exchanges are allowed if the order is still within the 30 Day return period. We ask that you complete a new order for the new items, and ship the other items back to our return center. Once the item has been received, we will refund your original order (minus original shipping cost).

We do not allow exchanges for custom assembly parts, any products after the 30-Day Period, or for any items that shipped to Canada.

Merchandise still in the box

You may return “unopened” products and accessories within 30 days of delivery for a full refund (minus the cost of shipping the original order). This excludes assembly items and orders that shipped to Canada.

Merchandise Removed from the box

Most “opened” products and accessories can be returned within 30 days of delivery as long as their retail packaging is not damaged, or the item is not extremely dirty. Opened returns must be in excellent condition with original materials and packaging. This excludes assembly items and orders that shipped to Canada.

Missing / Damaged Product Packaging

Products that have retail packaging missing or have damaged packaging are subject to a 25% restocking/repackaging fee.

Damaged Products

Products returned to us that are damaged will most likely be denied a return. If you believe you received a defective product, you must file a Warranty Claim with us.

Defective Products

We encourage you to test your product within 15 days of receipt to allow us to quickly remedy any problems. If you think your product is defective, give our customer service a call and we will help with the warranty request.

Cancelled Orders

An order that has shipped cannot be cancelled. If you refuse an order which has already been shipped, you will be responsible for both the outbound and return shipping costs.

Orders with Free Shipping

Orders over $99 include free shipping (except for orders shipping to Canada). If you return an order that had free shipping, the outbound shipping costs will be deducted from your return refund.

Before you sign for your package when it’s delivered…

  • If you suspect damage…
    • You must take the time to inspect the goods before signing the delivery receipt from the carrier. Once signed, you become responsible for filing a freight claim and arranging for a repair or return of the damaged goods. Concealed damage claims must be reported immediately. On occasion, the outer carton may look damaged, but the product inside the box is perfectly fine. If you suspect concealed damage, notate “Possible Freight Damage” on the delivery receipt while the driver is present.
  • Obvious Damage
    • Do not sign for damaged products. If your product arrives damaged, please (a) Refuse delivery and (b) Call Us immediately. We will process the appropriate claims and coordinate an exchange for you.

How to Return an Order:

To return an item, first you must contact us to get a RMA (Return Material Authorization) number from us. You must write this number visibly on the shipping box & on any paperwork you have from the order you are returning (Please also include the original packing slip or invoice if you still have them.)

It is your responsibility to pay for the return shipping. Products returned to the wrong address may be refused. This will delay your credit, which typically takes 2-3 weeks to process. Carefully read through the return policies to make sure your item qualifies for a return.
